INDIANAPOLIS - The USA Track & Field Foundation awarded several Youth Club grants during its June Board meeting in Eugene, Oregon, USATF Foundation ExecutiveDirector Tom Jackovic announced Wednesday.
The USATF Foundation provides a means to attract and guide funds to new and innovative track and field programs with an emphasis on providing opportunities for youth athletes, emerging elite athletes and anti-doping education.
The following clubs/organizations were awarded $2,000 grants:
Stars & Stripes Track Camp, Ore.:track camp and clinic for low income individuals and schools.
Carrie Tollefson Training Camp, Minn.:scholarships/financial support for athletes in need.
The following clubs/organizations were awarded $1,500 grants:
Ann Arbor Youth Track Club, Mich.: new uniforms, travel.
Yoe Town Harriers Running Club, Texas: entry fees, equipment, travel.
Silver Springs Neighborhood Center, Wis.: transportation to/from practice.
Tri City Blazers Youth T & F Club, N.C.: equipment.
Nashville Illusions Track Club, TN: uniforms, entry fees, travel.
Zoom Track Club, Colo.: clinics for technique, nutrition, injury prevention and officials training.
Mt. Pleasant Track Club, S.C.: T-shirts, clinics, equipment.
Distance Demons, Wis.: transportation, membership fees, shoes.
Mission Valley T & F Club, Calif.: mini-clinics.
Chautauqua Striders, N.Y.: T-shirts, transportation, stickers.
Just In Time Track Club, Texas: training, entry fees, travel.
Dallas Flying Aces Track Club, Texas: equipment for kids 5-8, travel.
Minnesota Breeze Track Club, Minn.:starting blocks, equipment.
Memphis Runners Track Club, Tenn.: MRTC-KIDS lifestyle training program.
