Jearl Miles-Clark, Jeff Hartwig and Alisa Harvey all set masters age-group records over the weekend.

Hartwig bettered his own world indoor masters record with his clearance of 5.60 meters/18 feet 4.50 inches on Friday in Dormagen, Germany. Hartwig's performance bettered his previous M40 masters world indoor record clearance of 5.51m/18-1.

Two American masters records were set Friday at the Penn State National Invitational in University Park, Pa. Five-time Olympian and two-time Olympic 4x400m relay gold medalist Jearl Miles-Clark finished third in Heat 4 of the women's 400 meters, stopping the clocks in 57.09 seconds. Her performance bettered the previous American W40 age-group record of 57.40 by Lesia Batiste in 2003, and fell just short of the listed world record of 56.82 by Holland's Tily Verhoef-Jacobs in 1997.

Also at University Park, 1991 Pan Am Games women's 1,500m gold medalist Alisa Harvey, won the 800 meters in 2 minutes 7.08 seconds at age 42. Harvey's performance bettered her own W40 American record time of 2:07.23.

McBarnette sets another record

Bruce McBarnette continued to rewrite the M50 masters record book Sunday by twice increasing his own American high jump record at the Sportplex Showcase meet at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md.

McBarnette previously set records for the high jump at the Sports and Learning Complex on December 16, 2007 and January 13, 2008.McBarnette bettered the record with his clearance of 1.88m/6-2 on his first attempt on Sunday before later clearing 1.92m/6-3.50 on his third and final attempt at that height.

During his masters career McBarnette has set numerous records and has won four world masters championships, and 18 USA Masters Championships for his age-group.
